Three-hundred eligible residents in Dutchess received vaccines on Wednesday, and Westchester residents may soon have another vaccine clinic option to consider.
Those who visited John Jay High School in East Fishkill received one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine today.
Dutchess County officials announced plans to host more pop-up vaccination sites to serve those in nearby communities. To be considered, residents must sign up with the county to be added to their vaccination list.
County Executive Marc Molinaro tells News 12 each clinic is staffed by health department employees and medical reserve corps volunteers.
“Hundreds of them across Dutchess County are volunteering every single day hour in and hour out to provide these vaccines,” says Molinaro. “That’s a remarkable service we’re benefiting from.”
The villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow plan to host a pop-up vaccine clinic on March 20 for those who are 60 years old and up, and for teachers.
Vaccines will be distributed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. through a partnership with Rite Aid.
To verify eligibility, residents must fill out a registration form and a representative will reach out to schedule an appointment.
