A suspended Spring Valley police officer defended his name Thursday to News 12 Hudson Valley in the face of new charges.
Last November, Officer David Lebron was arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty and then covering it up by filing false paperwork. A judge tossed out that indictment in January.
However, a Rockland County grand jury recently indicted Lebron on new charges. He's accused of warning bar owners ahead of police raids, working as a private security guard at those bars while in uniform and allegedly receiving alcohol and oral sex while working in those bars.
The new indictment also accuses Lebron of allowing drug deals to take place and permitting a Spring Valley resident to wear a police badge. Lebron even allegedly watched as the man pointed what appeared to be a gun at another person's head.
Lebron calls the claims false. "It really didn't surprise me because I knew they were going to manufacture something," Lebron said. "They're completely false and just a desperate attempt to try and indict me on anything, on something."Lebron plans to plead not guilty at his arraignment next week.
