Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd posthumously receives presidential medal of valor

Lloyd received his posthumously for repeatedly rushing back into the Evergreen Court Home for Adults to save the residents in wheelchairs from a fire back in March of 2021.

Fallen Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd's mother received a presidential medal of valor in her son's honor Monday morning.
For the first time in two years, President Joe Biden presented medals of valor Monday to 15 public safety officers.
Lloyd received his posthumously for repeatedly rushing back into the Evergreen Court Home for Adults to save the residents in wheelchairs from a fire back in March of 2021.
It is the highest award the president can bestow on a public safety officer.
