News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says overnight showers will continue into Thursday across the Hudson Valley.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- A storm system will continue to move in to the area tonight and into Thursday morning, bringing rain and patchy fog.
- Temperatures will be above average for the next several days for both the highs and lows.
- After rain fades early Saturday, the New Year’s Eve and New Year's Day forecast will trend dry. The dry stretch will continue through all of next week.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT -- STORM WATCH: Cloudy and dreary with patchy fog and batches of rain. Temperatures will slowly be on the rise after midnight. Lows in the low- to mid-40s and rising.
THURSDAY: Mainly cloudy with rain fading early in the morning then a few isolated batches of showers are possible in the evening. There will be a few instances of low visibility, due to patchy fog, especially in the morning hours. Highs in the upper-40s to low-50s. Lows in the low- to mid-40s.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with a small shower chance. Highs in the mid- to upper-40s. Lows in the mid- to upper-30s.
SATURDAY: Showers move away early in the day then partly cloudy skies and breezy winds are expected. Highs in the low- to mid-40s. Lows in the upper-20s to low-30s.
SUNDAY -- NEW YEAR'S EVE: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low-40s. Lows in the low-30s.
MONDAY -- NEW YEAR'S DAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper-30s to low-40s. Lows in the upper-20s to low-30s.
