Tuesday Storm Update:
Tuesday's storm is trending colder which increases the potential for snow in the Hudson Valley for the Tuesday morning and midday commute. The entire Hudson Valley will start off with light snow or mix on Tuesday morning around sunrise. Accumulating snow is possible in southern Westchester County but is likely toward I-287 and points northward. Generally, 1-3 inches of snow is expected, with the highest totals in Orange and Putnam counties where 3 inches+ is expected.
Forecast Summary
We're in an active weather pattern with multiple storms approaching the Hudson Valley over the next few days. It will also be much colder than usual which opens the door for snowflakes over the upcoming week or two.
Today is wet and breezy with stray showers for the middle of the day. A few snowflakes are mixing in for Ulster and Orange counties but accumulation is only expected in higher elevations.
Monday is cold and sunny with highs in the low 40s, feeling like the mid 30s with winds W 15 mph.
Winter weather is expected on Tuesday. Expect a slushy 1-3 inches of snow, especially along and north of I-287. Totals could be higher in Orange County.
Bitter cold weather settles in for the middle of the week. High temperatures will struggle to hit 40 degrees Wednesday through Friday. The coldest air arrives on Friday. Highs are barely above freezing, and overnight lows will be in the teens and 20s.
Snow late week?
Another storm is approaching our area Friday night into Saturday. Cold air is in place so there's a possibility of accumulating snow Friday night into Saturday, although we do not know how much (if any) of the storm will impact our area, so it's too early for specifics. Currently, we expect a period of snow Friday night and a risk for wintry mix on Saturday. Stay tuned for changes!
