ALERTS: Winter weather advisory for the entire lower Hudson Valley.
While this latest winter storm is only bringing a couple of inches of snow, ice on top of snow before a change to any plain rain showers is making travel more treacherous this morning.
A gradual change from snow to sleet to freezing rain to some plain rain will happen from south to north between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. before the storm exits early this afternoon. This means travel is impacted all morning long.
The afternoon will be better, but still wet and slippery for travel under a mostly cloudy sky and highs around 36 degrees.
A few icy patches can develop overnight with lows around 33 degrees in White Plains and Yonkers, but at or below freezing elsewhere.
Tomorrow will be a dry, windy, and chilly day that allows us to regroup and prepare for our next winter storm in a series of storms over the next few weeks. The next one can bring accumulating snow overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning. Exact details on that storm will become clearer tonight into tomorrow.
