The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the Hudson Valley region, effective through Thursday morning.
News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says that while the storm may begin as rain, it is expected to turn to snow. Van Eck says the rain/snow mix will change over to all snow in Orange around 10 a.m., while Rockland, Putnam, and northern Westchester counties should see all snow between 12-2 p.m. Southern Westchester should have all snow after 5-6 p.m.
Van Eck says the snow should clear the region by midnight.
Snowfall totals should be between 6 and 10 inches in upper elevations in areas north and west of Westchester County, while other regions should be in the 3-6 inch range. Areas south of I-287 can expect between 1 and 3 inches.
Thanksgiving Day is expected to be dry with highs in the upper 30s.
