An Eastchester couple's tale of love and perseverance in a Nazi concentration camp is now the topic of a PBS documentary.
Jack and Ina Polak say they drew strength during the Holocaust by writing letters to each other - on cardboard scraps, toilet paper, whatever they could find. The letters were later turned into a book, "Steal A Pencil For Me," which has now been turned into a documentary.
The couple was married in 1946 after being liberated from a concentration camp and moved to Eastchester five years later. They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
