This Valentine's Day, Americans will be digging deep into their wallets to show some love to pets.

The National Retail Federation predicts Americans will shell out just under $1.2 billion on their four-legged friends.

When it comes to the other special people in our lives - like spouses, partners and friends - that number is expected to reach nearly $24 billion.

That number is up from $21.8 billion in 2021.
