Greenlawn man indicted for attempted murder; accused of paralyzing woman, fleeing from police

A 73-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash Saturday afternoon near Lafayette Avenue and Woodland Avenue in Suffern.

Police say the driver, identified as Angel Mendoza Raymundo, was intoxicated when he struck the woman.

The 29-year-old was caught by an off-duty sergeant and now faces multiple charges, including vehicular assault, DWI, and leaving the scene of an incident.

The victim remains in serious condition.
