Suffolk officer treated for smoke inhalation after Huntington house fire

Suffolk police tell News 12 four adults and a baby were able to make it out of the house safely on their own.

Multiple departments responded to an overnight house fire in Suffolk County.

Crews responded to the home on Edgar Court in Huntington around 12:30 a.m., fire officials say.

A total of seven fire departments helped get the blaze under control.

Suffolk police tell News 12 four adults and a baby were able to make it out of the house safely on their own.

One officer went to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

There were no other injuries reported.

News 12 has reached out to the Red Cross for information on any assistance they might be providing to the residents and are waiting to hear back.

Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives are investigating the cause.
