Sullivan County man arrested for assaulting US Capitol police officer during Gaza protest

A Sullivan County man is accused of assaulting a police officer during a Gaza ceasefire protest in Washington, D.C.
Ruben Arthur Camacho was arrested after a U.S. Capitol police officer saw him slam another officer into a garage door and punch her in the face.
Capitol police say 200 people gathered in front of the Democratic National Committee headquarters to call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Police characterized the event as "not peaceful" and reported that six officers were injured at the event.
