The portion of I-95 South between Westport and Greenwich is the busiest traffic corridor in the country, according to analytics company INRIX.
“I'm not surprised to hear that at all," says Megan Damato, of Monroe. "It just takes forever to get anywhere here in Fairfield County."
A survey found that taking the corridor every weekday during the 8 a.m. rush hour resulted in a driver losing 150 hours in traffic in 2024.
“We keep hearing that people are moving out of the state," Stratford's John Csonka says. "But you can’t prove it by 95 or the parkway somedays."
In 2023, the section of I-95 North from the Sherwood Island Connector to Exit 27 in Bridgeport was the third-busiest traffic corridor in the U.S, but it did not make the list this year.
“I’m not sure how it would be fixed," Damato says. "They really should address it in someway because it’s been going on for a while."
No. 2 on the list was I-93 in Boston.
