A dozen teenagers are under arrest and facing a variety of charges after police say they rioted in a West Nyack shopping center Friday.
Police say the incident began in a McDonald?s at the Palisades Center late Friday night. Mall security said they were trying to break up a fight between two girls when onlookers attacked them. Police say one security guard was hit with a chair and another punched and kicked in the groin. Officers were forced to use pepper spray to subdue the riot.
Police say the teens range in age from 12 to 19 and could face charges of felony riot, resisting arrest and harassment. Mall officials say they will consider imposing a 4 p.m. curfew for teens not accompanied by an adult on Fridays and Saturdays.
