Tenafly community awaits release of Edan Alexander, held by Hamas

Monday morning, the community joined together in Tenafly as the last living American hostage Edan Alexander is expected to be released as part of a ceasefire deal.
Neighbors united at Huyler Park watching a livestream of an Israel news channel. Alexander is an Israeli-American IDF soldier, 21, who grew up in Tenafly.
He was kidnapped from his base during the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks. President Donald Trump's envoy confirmed Hamas had agreed to release Edan as a good will gesture.
