In a virtual ceremony, The Temple Israel of New Rochelle honored the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Shabbat Shirah, The Shabbat of Song.

Shabbat Shirah celebrates the story of Moses and Miriam leading the Israelites across The Red Sea and out of Egypt.

Throughout Friday’s ceremony, the temple drew a parallel between the Israelites journey to freedom and Martin Luther King Jr's fight for freedom.

Both in person, and virtually, members of The Temple Israel of New Rochelle "rang out the sound of freedom.”
