News 12's Ty Milburn is in Yonkers where flooding has caused drivers to become stranded on some roadways.
The torrential rain on Thursday turned the Kohl's parking lot in Yonkers into a small lake Thursday.
The rain came so fast and furious that it dumped about 8 feet of water onto the parking lot, causing a flash flood.
More than a half dozen cars were flooded and damaged, and some people were trapped in their car and had to be rescued.
Denise Resnick was one of the people rescued.
She was trapped in her Honda Accord with 8 feet of water before a good Samaritan named Chris saved her.
The good news is that all of the people who were rescued appeared to be OK, but the cars may be totaled.
The parking lot is prone to flooding, due to apparent bad drainage.
