Tree branch falls through windshield, kills Chestnut Ridge man
A tree branch fell through the windshield of a car driven by a 29-year-old Chestnut Ridge man who later died at a hospital.
Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman says it received a call at 9:41 a.m. about the incident at 445 South Pascack Road in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.
News 12 was at the scene outside Bais Medrash of Dexter Park – a private Jewish school. Hyman says the man was either pulling into or out of the institution when the branch fell.
Hyman says the driver, who has not yet been identified publicly, was alert and conscious before being transported to Westchester Medical Center. The hospital confirmed that the man later died.
News 12's Carol Wilkinson says funeral services for the man were held Sunday evening.
