Two people from Maryland are facing weapons charges in Westchester County after being pulled over in New Rochelle.
New Rochelle police say officers stopped a car at 710 Main St. early last Saturday morning after it ran a red light. Upon inspection, they discovered the car had a fraudulent temporary tag instead of a properly registered license plate.
A search of the vehicle revealed a 9mm handgun with a large capacity magazine.
Consequently, the driver, Reiving Rivera-Ramos, and the passenger, Jenner Garcia, were both arrested.
They are charged with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device. Additionally, Rivera-Ramos faces charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
