An Ulster Correctional Facility officer is recovering this morning after being attacked by an inmate.
Officials say the 36-year-old inmate became irate in the medical facility and that's when he attacked the officer.
Other staff members jumped in to break it up.
The inmate underwent a medical evaluation and was placed in a housing unit.
The officer was taken to the hospital for their injuries.
