Family and friends said their final goodbyes Friday to the 13-year-old girl who died after a snow tubing accident in Thiells.

Aleyris Martinez, a student at Fieldstone Secondary School, was killed when her tube crashed into a tree while she was sledding at Phillip J. Rotella Golf Course Monday.

Family friend Diana Guzman says Martinez was intelligent, athletic and active in the community.

"She was always in church, she had a lot of friends," Guzman says. "I knew her since she was in her mother's belly."

Funeral services for the teen will be held at St. Peter's Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by a candlelight vigil that will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Peck's Pond.
