The Wappingers Falls community banded together Monday evening to support two players from the junior high school modified football team whose families were affected by home explosion last week that injured 15 people.
The football team honored the players with a special recognition ahead of a game Monday night at Roy C. Ketcham High School.
In addition to this honor on the field, the team is also supporting these players off of the field.
Their coach, Gregory Battista, set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the players and their families.
The GoFundMe for the students has already generated nearly $9,000 in donations.
News 12’s Jade Nash was at the game where the two players received a special recognition.
