Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins is against the reopening of the Indian Point nuclear power plant in Buchanan.
He has asked the Board of Legislators to adopt an act declaring the county's strong opposition to the plant's restart.
The company overseeing the decommissioning recently suggested a restart could be possible.
Holtec International estimates it would cost $10 billion to revive the 2,000-megawatt plant.
It would also require state and federal approval.
