The 2024 Westchester County budget was officially signed into law on Monday.
The budget, totaling $2.4 billion, maintains the same county property tax levy as 2023, marking the fifth consecutive year without a levy increase.
The budget passed early Monday with bipartisan support from the Westchester County Board of Legislators.
"This is an example of government working," said Westchester County executive George Latimer at Monday's budget signing. "There are people in this room who are registered republicans, registered conservatives, registered democrats... they found common ground."
The new budget comes as the county received an AAA rating from Fitch Ratings, the highest designation possible, underscoring the county's commitment to maintaining a solid financial foundation. The New York state comptroller has also lowered the fiscal stress score for the county to zero.
