Several Westchester law enforcement agencies recently took part in a helicopter crash response training exercise near Huckleberry Island in New Rochelle.

The exercise was modeled after the crash that occurred earlier this year on the Hudson River.

Organizers say the goal is to ensure police and marine units could respond to that type of incident in a way that would not impede the NTSB investigation.

Local departments including Rye, Mamaroneck and New Rochelle were among those who participated.
