Woman accused of setting a cat on fire in Poughkeepsie

Jeanette Wright faces felony charges of arson and aggregated animal cruelty.

City of Poughkeepsie police arrested a woman accused of setting a cat on fire.
Multiple patrol units were sent to a structure fire at 9 North White St. on March 30.
The fire was deemed suspicious.  
An investigation found that a cat was ignited, causing a fire inside the second-story apartment.
The remains of the cat were subsequently located.
Jeanette Wright, 34, was taken into custody today and faces felony charges of arson and aggregated animal cruelty.
