The actions of an alert grocery store worker led to the arrest of a Garnerville man who's suspected of groping a young girl, police said Tuesday.
According to police, a ShopRite worker wrote down a customer's license plate number Monday night after seeing the man act suspiciously. Police tracked down the customer to his Garnerville home, where he was eventually arrested.Officials believe Victor Nieves, 60, groped a 12-year-old girl and unzipped his pants inside the same store on Route 202 last month.
He is charged with forcible touching and public lewdness. Nieves, who was released Tuesday on $10,000 bail, is due back in court later this week.
