Yonkers Department of Public Works employees rescued a cat and her kittens.

The cat, nicknamed Millie after Saw Mill River Road, often roamed the service center on Nepperhan Avenue.

Millie wandered into the service center garage closet and crawled under a garbage truck under repair over the weekend.

Employees heard faint crying coming from the closet Monday morning.

They found Millie curled up with four little kittens.

An independent rescuer is caring for the feline family until they can be placed for adoption.
