The Yonkers Police Department held a recruitment event Sunday at Stew Leonard's, inviting people ranging in ages from 17 to 42 to ask questions about its 2025 police officer entrance exam.
Attendees learned about the job, benefits and the application process.
According to Yonkers Police Department, the starting pay at the time of appointment is $70,229 which later rises to $106,707 after five years of service.
The filing deadline for applications is July 25 at 4:30 pm.
