Police say one person is in critical condition after a four-alarm fire ripped through a building in Highbridge.
The FDNY says it happened at 1215 Grand Concourse shortly after 12:26 a.m.
The fire initially started in the attic of the building and rose all the way to a four-alarm fire in under an hour. It forced residents onto the streets in the bitter cold, to watch their homes go up in flames.
One person was rushed to the hospital who was severely hurt, they're fighting for their life. Fire officials say they were able to get that fire under control in a little under two hours.
News 12 reached out to the American Red Cross to see how many people were displaced because of the fire, we are waiting to hear back.
