Ramapo police are searching for two men who pulled off a home invasion and robbery Monday night.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at a home on Rubenstein Court in New Hempstead. Police say two armed men forced their way into the house and pulled a gun on the owner.
Police say one man held the owner at gunpoint while the other went and stole property. Authorities say they believe the men knew exactly what they were looking for, though they won't say what it was.
Police say once the men got what they wanted, they fled the scene without hurting the victim.
Police believe the suspects targeted the victim because the two men were spotted in the neighborhood two weeks ago checking out a house. They say a neighbor was able to scare them away.
Neighbors say the bold break-in has the entire neighborhood on edge.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call police.
