A Bronx man has been sentenced to 9 years for pushing a 39-year-old man onto the subway tracks in Manhattan.
Ronnie Perry, 50, was found guilty in January for the attack that happened in June of 2024.
In the trial it was proven that Perry had argued with his girlfriend by the turnstiles inside the W. 4 St-Washington Square subway station just before the attack. Perry made his way onto the A, C, and E train platform.
The 39-year-old victim swiped into the station at the turnstiles where Perry’s girlfriend yelled at him. Once on the train platform Perry’s girlfriend pointed out the 39-year-old who was coming home from work.
Perry proceeded to punch the 39-year-old man in the face before pushing him onto the train tracks.
People nearby helped pull the 39-year-old man off the tracks. The victim suffered lacerations and bruising and bleeding to his face and legs
Perry fled onto a southbound F train. He later surrendered himself to police on July 5, 2024.
