Liberty police and multiple Sullivan County agencies conducted a countywide enforcement detail targeting illegal vape and tobacco sales to minors.
The operation ran from June 7 through June 21 and involved compliance checks at 38 retail locations. Most stores were found to be in compliance.
Jesus Castro-Garcia, of Manhattan, Halpert Sing, of Liberty, and Brooklyn Porter, of Claryville, were arrested. Each was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the second degree.
Liberty Police Chief Steven D'Agata said the effort aimed to reduce youth access to vape products and promote healthier outcomes.
