Six people were arrested for allegedly selling counterfeit clothing and shoes to people in the Newburgh area.
Police busted into storefronts and say they seized counterfeit merchandise in the town and city of Newburgh. They say it was fairly common knowledge that there were certain places in the area that sold the goods cheaply.
According to police, officers seized two tractor-trailers full of the knock-off, name-brand merchandise. Investigators say the merchandise included fake Timberland boots, Nike sneakers and North Face track jackets.
Police say the initial complaints about the counterfeit footwear and clothing came from the real manufacturers.
All six people arrested are facing felony trademark counterfeiting charges.
