? Prosecutors released the 911 tapes Friday from the deadly shooting of a Ramapough Lenape Indian Nation member from Monroe.
Tribal leader Anthony Van Dunk says confusion about the situation and the words law enforcement used to describe his people shows a strained relationship. On the tape, officials are heard calling Ramapough Indians ?mountain people.? Van Dunk believes the audiotape proves his people are targets.
A park ranger shot and killed 43-year-old Emil Mann in April at Ringwood State Park in New Jersey. Members of the tribe admit they were riding ATVs, which is illegal in the park, but they say that should not have led to Mann being shot. Authorities are investigating the case.
