Data shows road rage is happening at an alarming rate across the country.
"I see it almost every day," said one woman who works in Westchester County.
Drivers say they're really noticing it in the Hudson Valley.
"People cutting you off all the time, people not allowing you to move into their lane," says Westchester County resident Fred Ortiz.
A recent study from AAA finds it's happening a lot.
In fact, 96% of drivers in a AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety study admitted to engaging in aggressive driving behaviors over the past year. This includes cutting off other cars on purpose, making angry gestures and road rage, to name a few.
"It's a disturbing trend and we just worry that it can lead to a lot of bad things happening," says Robert Sinclair Jr., with AAA Northeast.
News 12 has seen some of those situations in the Hudson Valley over just the last couple of weeks, including in Ramapo, where police say a road rage dispute ended with a man getting hit with a tire iron.
Officials tell News 12 they are tracking an increase in these kinds of cases locally.
Police urge drivers to stay calm and not to engage with other drivers. They also advise drivers to leave plenty of time to get to their destination to reduce speeding or frustration.
