A Spring Valley man accused of killing a 16-year-old girl simply because she was pregnant pleaded guilty Wednesday in a plea deal.
As part of a pretrial hearing at Rockland County Court, a 26-minute videotaped confession was played and submitted into evidence. On the tape, 22-year-old Ryan Ross told the district attorney?s office how he took a baseball bat and struck Karesse Ebron in the head multiple times causing her death. Police say the brutal attack in June of 2006 came after Ebron told Ross she was pregnant with his child. Police say Ebron was missing for two weeks before Ross led them to her body.
Ebron?s family members say they want justice to be served and will have a chance to speak at Ross? sentencing. Ross could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
