The battle for suburban support in the Democratic primary race for governor came to Westchester County Thursday.
Sources say Latimer is at the top of a short list of potential running mates for James.
"She has stood up against powerful interests, and she's been willing to risk in order to achieve for us," says Latimer.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano joined the mayor of White Plains and New Rochelle and six members of the Assembly in the Hudson Valley to endorse current Gov. Kathy Hochul, who is running in her first primary race for governor.
"From the very beginning she has seemed to hit the ground running. She has reached out more than once to find out what our needs are," says Spano.
Also in the race is New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and Rep. Thomas Suozzi from Long Island.
