A candidate in the race for Ramapo Town Supervisor says his campaign signs are being vandalized with messages of hate.

Anthony Mele, running on the Republican and Preserve Ramapo Party lines, says anonymous signs have been placed next to his along Route 59. They read ?Save our town from Preserve Ramapo?s racist agenda? and ?Stop the anti-Semitism.?

Some signs also target Preserve Ramapo Chairman Robert Rhodes. "They are disgusting signs. It is clear that the people responsible are cowards because they don't want to be identified,? Rhodes says. ?They did not get permission by the Town of Ramapo to put them up.?

The assistant to Ramapo?s town supervisor, Phil Tisi, says he was unaware of the signs and does not know who is responsible for them. He says all campaign signs belonging to candidates should be respected. Tisi says the Ramapo Police Department is now advised of the situation.
