Police say five people were arrested in the past few days for drug-related charges in Putnam County.
The county sheriff's office says 23-year-old Nicholas Bunyea, from Patterson, had heroin on him when he was taken into custody for four warrants.
Deputies say 29-year-old Brandon Gattling, from Waterbury, Connecticut, had been communicating with an undercover drug unit member and agreed to deliver heroin in the Town of Southeast.
Unit members say they saw three suspects committing larcenies at a business in Southeast. They tried to drive off, damaging a sheriff's office vehicle.
James Sorrell and Elana Lafalce were taken into custody then.
The third person, Michael Brown, was arrested a couple weeks later on a warrant.
All three have been released to appear in the Town of Southeast for a later court date.
