An officer in the Bronx has been arrested after allegedly choking and threatening the mother of his child.
According to the criminal complaint, 31-year-old Peter Everett is accused of strangling the victim on Monday, while telling her in part, "I'm going to snap your neck." Police say Everett was not on duty at the time.
Everett was arrested early the next morning and arraigned on several charges, including assault, harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
Everett was released on his own recognizance, and is due back in court in November.
The victim was not hospitalized.
