An 18-year-old is behind bars after police say she stabbed three people in an apparent lover?s quarrel.
According to police, Jessica Amato entered a Kingston Avenue house, went to the bathroom and attacked the 21-year-old victim in the shower. Police say Amato then tried to take off, but the victim?s two brothers were in the home and chased after her. Police say Amato also stabbed the brothers during the pursuit.
Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden says the brothers were able to hold Amato until police arrived. Worden says Amato came to the house with the intention of confronting the woman. Police believe the whole altercation started with an argument earlier Monday evening between Amato and one of the brothers.
The woman sustained the most serious injuries, including a lacerated liver, and is recovering at Bon Secours Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery. Amato is facing multiple felony charges for the stabbings and possession of a weapon. To view an interview about the attack, go to channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and click on iO Extra.
