Clarkstown police are warning the public to take extra precautions after a credit card skimming device was found on an ATM at a local convenience store.
The device was installed on a Citibank ATM at the 7-Eleven in Nanuet on Route 59.
Thieves use the device to copy credit card numbers and steal money from victims' bank accounts.
Police also found a camera on the ATM and are urging anyone who might have used the machine to contact their bank and be vigilant about credit card fraud.
Clarkstown police are still looking at video surveillance to see how long the skimming device was on the ATM.
