Residents of a Spring Valley neighborhood who have dealt with detours for two years will get some relief tomorrow when Union Road is reopened.
Spring Valley Mayor Noramie Jasmin says the stretch of Union Road between Stone House Drive and Morris Road was shut down because of safety concerns with a road bridge.
Crews are putting the finishing touches on a new temporary bridge, which means many will no longer have a daily detour.
Jasmin says the bridge is the first phase of a three-part project the village and Rockland County are working on, designed to stop a creek from flooding area homes when it rains.
