Orange County firefighters came to the aid of a driver in a wheelchair who had veered into a drainage ditch along Route 17-M near Duck Farm Road in Goshen.

The distress call reported a vehicle partially submerged in approximately 3 feet of water, with the driver unable to exit the car.

Firefighters responded to the scene, initiating a challenging rescue operation that lasted about 45 minutes.

Following the successful extraction, the driver was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment
