An elevator outage in Mount Vernon has some elderly and disabled residents trapped inside their apartments.
It's been more than a month since the elevator broke at 55 Pennsylvania Ave.
It was supposed to be fixed by Thursday, but the building's superintendent says a part that's being custom-made isn't ready. It will push the repair back by another week.
A Mount Vernon spokesperson says the Building Department is aware of the issue, and has put management on notice.
The elevator is expected to be repaired by June 4.
