A fallen NYPD officer from the Hudson Valley has been added to a Sept. 11 police memorial in New City. Officer Chris McMurry lost his five-year battle with brain cancer after being diagnosed in 2003.

A fallen NYPD officer from the Hudson Valley has been added to a Sept. 11 police memorial in New City.
Officer Chris McMurry lost his five-year battle with brain cancer after being diagnosed in 2003. The NYPD has since ruled that his death was related to the work he did at Ground Zero.
Loved ones, including McMurry's wife Susie and two sons, say it's nice to have a place where they can go to have quiet moments and to remember him.
A special ceremony to honor McMurry at the Rockland County Law Enforcement Memorial will be held on May 22, which would have been his 14th wedding anniversary.
