The fate of a man accused of hiring a hit man to kill his ex-girlfriend in Middletown is now in the hands of a jury.
Closing arguments wrapped up Thursday in the case against Patrick Bowie. The prosecution contends when Bowie couldn?t win his former girlfriend back, he had her killed. Prosecutors say Bowie watched as his friend Melvin Green shot Fermina Nunez to death in her hair salon last December. Green was convicted last month for his role in Nunez?s death.
Nunez?s family members say they are satisfied with the prosecution?s work in the trial. The prosecution says there is no reasonable doubt to Bowie?s guilt in the murder. Bowie faces life in prison if convicted.Related Information Jury selection starts for man in murder-for-hire case Jury convicts triggerman in murder-for-hire plot Family hears painful details in salon murder trial Judge sets $5M bail for boyfriend in Middletown murder-for-hire plot
