A massive fire ripped through an apartment building on Washington Avenue in Belmont early Thursday morning.
Officials say two people were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Five people are now being aided by the Red Cross in the aftermath of the fire.
A resident who lives on the fifth floor of the building tells News 12 that her heater was smoking, and she immediately called 911 before leaving.
The FDNY has not discovered the cause of the fire.
