Yonkers firefighters are getting help learning how to handle hazardous materials.

The department was awarded a FEMA grant worth nearly $900,000, officials said.

The money will be used to teach new firefighters to respond to chemical and industrial fires, according to prosecutors.

It will also go toward equipment upgrades.
